A Thanksgiving Story

Wednesday, November 26th, 2014

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: “I am blind, please help.” There were only a few coins in the hat. A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words. Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were.

The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, “Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?” The man said, “I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way.” I wrote: “Today is a beautiful day but I cannot see it.”

Both signs told people that the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people that they were so lucky that they were not blind. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?

Moral of the Story: Be thankful for what you have. Be creative. Be innovative. Think differently and positively. When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that you have 1000 reasons to smile. Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear. Keep the faith and drop the fear.

The most beautiful thing is to see a person smiling. And even more beautiful, is knowing that you are the reason behind it!

Keeping Your Summer Skin Radiant This Fall

Friday, November 7th, 2014
As fall weather approaches cooler, drier air will play havoc with our skin. Just like the summer clothes that fill your closet, it is time to put a few pieces away that simply do not work with the change in weather. It is no different with your skin care products and even your regimen. Here are tips for fall to keep your skin looking beautiful and healthy.
  • Reassess your body cleanser:  you want moisture laden ingredients like ahas (lactic acid), vitamin B…Give our Smooth As Silk Cleanser a try.
  • Use a body polish:  you want to exfoliate more often due to the more drying effects of fall.  Do not use scrubs as they scratch the skin.  Our Exfoliating Cleanser is loaded with jojoba spheres in a moisturizing base.
  • Moisturize daily: Hydrate your skin as cooler, drier air saps your skin of water and oils.  Serums are perfect.  Try Grape Seed Serum and E2 Lipid Hand and Body Lotion.
  • Mask weekly: Hydrating Masks will deliver nutrients, antioxidants and vitamins to your face. Try Hydrofusion™  Strawberries & Crème or Pro-C® Moisturizing Masks.
  • Sunscreen: Your #1 nemesis for healthy skin never stops. In fact UVA radiation is always at 100% potency from sunrise to sunset, rain or shine. Use Pro-Tect® SPF20 or SPF30+.
  • Remember Your Feet: sandals, open toe shoes or simply going barefoot are replaced with closed toe shoes and boots. Take care of them so you can pop back in your sandals when the time comes.  Power Beads Body Polish is perfect.
  • Nail care needs help too: One tell-tale sign of cold weather is dry cuticles. Use our N2S Cuticle and Nail Conditioner 10 seconds three times a week can quickly take care of the cracked skin and nails and will keep a painful issue at bay.
  • Treat your hair: Hair becomes drier and more brittle. Use hair dryers less often or shorten your usage time as they dry out the scalp. A great trick is to add 1 drop of our Grape Seed Serum to your shampoo when you wash your hair.
  • Lips need help, too: Do not lick your lips as they will chap faster. Keep our Pro-Tect® SPF20 Lip Balm in your pocket or purse.
